The Sadies

Silk screened show poster: It was a privilege to design and illustrate this poster for The Sadies. I hand lettered the title, illustrated the image, and designed the layout and type treatment, ultimately preparing the poster for hand printing. Art Director: Ryan Dougherty Media: Graphite and ink, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

This 2-color poster was printed in black and periwinkle blue on white paper. "The Sadies" is boldly hand lettered at the top in curled, half-cursive letters. Below, a girl with a short cropped haircut, a blue t-shirt, and cowboy boots sits in the grass. She is looking off the left side of the page while she holds a home-made oversized sugar skull on a staff, slung on her left shoulder. Clean type for the concert details read below on a white background.
