This 2-D Rube Goldberg inspired poster was hand lettered and designed to represent the musician's multi-instrumentalist solo performances. I was responsible for all aspects of this projects, from concept, lettering, illustration, design, and final hand printing. A digital version of a silk screened poster, this illustration focuses on ornate fluorescent orange hand lettering on a deep purple background for the premier of the debut album by Rob Flax, entitled Distractible Boy. Playing around the focal type are 2D line art instruments from folk, classical, and electronic genres. The eye follows the suggested motion of the instruments, as they create a static, fictional, but visually functional Rube Goldberg machine.
